Forest Dog Rescue is a registered non-profit making charity that has been running for 10 years, dedicated to helping dogs in need in the Wyre Forest area. It is now run by just a handful of caring volunteers who give their time for free, and who over the past 4 years have worked tirelessly to keep the charity going. It was surprising for us to learn that even people who live in the immediate area had not heard of Forest Dog Rescue and the work that we do, so advertising became one of the top issues for improvement. Combined with this problem, the existing kennels were not going to take our dogs anymore, so new ones had to be found. The Pattersons at Birch Hill Kennels came to our rescue, and the fact that they were used to dealing with rescue dogs, made them an ideal choice. |

We have a very clear policy at Forest Dog Rescue, that no dog, no matter what age (unless absolutely necessary) is destroyed and so you can imagine that this costs a lot of money. We take in dogs from the Wyre Forest area who, through no fault of their own have ended up in our care. These dogs come to us for various reasons, marriage break-ups, deceased owners, change of circumstances, older dogs thrown out to make way for much younger playful puppies or simply those who have just become lost. We rely solely on donations to pay for our kennelling costs, vets fees, and also behaviourist charges for dogs who have a problem. You must all agree that all dogs deserve a second chance, and Forest Dog Rescue is here to make sure they get that chance ! Please feel free to view the rest of our site, and learn more about Forest Dog Rescue and how you can help. Many thanks, Wendy Watts (chairman) |
